A note from Sam: 
Hi friends! I'm a trans woman, and my debut novel features a trans female main character. Also, as you may know, times are very scary for transgender people in this country. Our rights, and our very existence, are under attack.

There are many things we need to be doing to support transgender youth and their families. But this holiday season, I wanted to try and spread some joy to trans youth in need.

Transanta is a mutual aid project that connects anonymous gift-givers with trans youth who are unhoused, in foster care, or otherwise without crucial support they need to thrive.

So until the end of the year (Dec 31), for each paperback copy you buy of my novel, In the Valley, A Shadow, from my personal website, I will donate $5 to Transanta (purchases are only available in the U.S.).

Whether for yourself, a friend, a family member, it doesn't matter! If you have a reader in your life who loves sci-fi, action, adventure, and maybe needs to see some trans representation in their media, my novel would make a rad gift! At the same time, you'll be giving a gift to a trans young person, too.
